7th and 8th grades: Talk on space by Bill Dent
On Tuesday, August 27th Bill Dent, a Scottish Astronomer, currently stationed at ALMA Project (ESO), came to our school to give a talk to 7th and 8th grades MTN on the subject of space, the creation of planets and stars, and the discovery of different kinds of black holes. These topics were related to the First Unit of the Second Term Star Power for 8th graders, which is why it was very motivating for the students who were, at the time, investigating topics related to the ones addressed in the talk. We feel very proud of our students who showed their interest in the questions they asked Mr Dent, and the conversation they were able to hold with him at the end of his lecture. We would like to thank Mr Dent for his work, his excellent sense of humor, and for showing our students how much is being done, in terms of space exploration, in our own country.
